My t-zone can get particularly oily and I sometimes get open pores around my nose. My skin wasn’t exactly terrible when I was a teenager but I did suffer from acne around my chin and on my forehead and unfortunately, this continued through my twenties and into my thirties!

When I started working for the nzskincare company, I figured I needed to ditch my existing routine of a mixed range of expensive chemical-based skincare products and start practicing what I was preaching! The chemical products hadn’t really done my skin any favours - I still frequently got acne and my face was constantly oily. The great New Zealand summer wreaked particular havoc on my skin. My face would end would end up an oily mess by the end of the day, even through I was constantly applying powder in a bid to combat the slick.

So, to be honest, I wasn't expecting much when I switched to geoskincare. I’d come to terms with the fact that my skin was my skin, and I‘d accepted that it would always be like it was. Well, I’m happy to say, I was I wrong! (And really, I'm not just saying this because I work for the brand!).

Ever since I made the switch to geoskincare my skin has been much improved. I'm not showing off when I say that I frequently get compliments on my skin (although I must admit, it is quite nice) I feel really proud when people comment on my nice skin because it proves that the range I promote does actually work.

'm not saying that my skin is always perfect - it's not! In fact as I write this I have dry skin around my mouth and bags under my eyes, the result of two long haul flights in three weeks – a small price to pay for a stint in the UK! My skin still gets a bit oily during my most 'social times' – like summer holidays when wine and food is in abundance, but skincare products aren't miracle workers and on the whole, I’m really happy with my skin.  It is ten times better than when I was using the chemical-laden products I used to, and I feel healthier and happier knowing I’m not exposing my skin to nasty toxins any longer.

I often get asked by family and friends who are interested in our products about what my skincare routine is so I thought I would share this on this blog.

Here is my very simple routine:

MORNING
I'm all about speed and don't spend a lot of time on my routine in the morning! I wake up, jump in the shower and give my face a quick wash with Daily Cleansing Gel. Every week or so, I use the Delicate Exfoliator. In the winter I often switch to the Daily Cleansing Milk as my skin (although oily) will still get a little dry and I find the milky cleanser gives me a bit more hydration.

I then spritz my face with Hydrating Water. In the summer I use the Hydra Gel as my moisturiser and in winter I switch to the Light Moisturiser.

EVENING
I ALWAYS wash my face before I go to bed. I don't wear lots of makeup, but I wear enough to know that it needs to come off before bed. I will always wash my face twice - once to get the makeup off and once to clean the skin. Once dried, a couple of quick spritzes of Hydrating Water. I then (both winter and summer) use a combination of Hydra Gel and then Light Moisturiser. If I do have any acne (especially if I can feel something brewing!) I will dab the Manuka Honey Masque on them as a spot treatment.

And that's it! Pretty easy really!

Oh, and masques! I am pretty slack when it comes to masques - too busy! But when I do use them I am always pleased with the results and realise I need to do them more. I try to do the Avocado & Grapeseed Masque when my skin is feeling dry and dehydrated and the other night I went to bed with the Manuka Honey Masque on as my skin broke out after my flights - when I woke up my skin felt amazing!

"The cleanser (Daily Cleansing Milk) and moisturiser (Light Moisturiser) were certainly light, and so sensitive you could practically here them crying. I can't think of anything better for eczema-prone, stressed out, flare-up-at-anything skin. Cleansing Milk was the perfect name for it, soft and milky. The Avocado & Grapeseed Masque was best by far; luxurious, delicious enough to eat (although slightly muddy in appearance), gentle as a pussycat and as soothing as a glass of hot milk at bedtime."
